Discovers and validates a multilingual site's live alternate-language cluster from one public page: hreflang codes checked against an IANA BCP 47 registry snapshot (script subtags like zh-Hans included) with Google's documented restrictions reported separately, the reciprocal return-link matrix, self-references, canonical alignment, x-default coverage, every redirect hop, raw vs rendered head evidence, html lang and Content-Language declarations, and bounded sitemap consistency. Checks structural integrity only, never translation quality, rankings, or indexing. Fetches up to 20 live pages; takes up to 60 seconds.

Locale Page Compare

Compares 2-5 explicitly supplied public locale-page URLs under identical structural checks without expanding beyond that set: side-by-side status, redirect hops, canonical alignment, raw and rendered html lang, Content-Language, hreflang sets, reciprocal links between the pages, and code validity, each mismatch named with the exact page responsible. For QA of a known language group or a staging-versus-production locale pair. Fetches and renders the supplied pages live; takes up to 60 seconds.

Start from Mozilla's en-US Firefox page, include sitemap evidence, and discover up to four alternates; or compare the supplied en-US and French Firefox pages directly without expanding beyond that pair.

02How should I read the result?

Read pass and the severity-ranked issues first. A pass means no error among the pages actually checked; warnings, a missing x-default, and omitted alternates can remain. Fix the named page's reachability, canonical, language-code, conflict, return-link, or self-reference error and rerun. Omitted alternates, unavailable rendered evidence, skipped sitemap evidence, or a direct comparison limit the conclusion to the fetched or supplied pages.

03What are its limits?

Discovery is bounded to the configured alternates and at most 20 live pages, while direct comparison checks only the two to five URLs supplied. The result covers technical locale structure, not translation accuracy, writing quality, search rankings, or whether a search engine indexed the pages.
